– and You Can get Them All on Amazon!

Packing for a move is often the hardest part, so why not make it easier on yourself and order all the supplies you need for moving organization in one place?

Many people might not think of Amazon.com as their first choice for moving supplies like tape, boxes and plastic wraps, but of course the world’s number one shopping website has no shortage of options for everything you might need to prepare for your next move.

One of the services I offer as a Houston professional organizer is a packing and unpacking moving organization service that helps my clients declutter as they pack, pack in the most organized way possible, and then unpack in the same way at the other end. It’s a popular service, and if we can help you in this way, don’t hesitate to contact us or book an appointment here.

The point for this post is, however, is that in providing a packing and unpacking moving organization service I need a lot of these supplies, and, surprise, find that Amazon is usually the most efficient way – and often the most economical – way to get them. So today, I’m sharing some of the best of these products to help anyone out there – whether they live in Houston or not – make an organized move – which really is the best way to move – a lot easier.

Bulk Bubble Wrap

Bubble wrap is a great way to help ensure that breakable, delicate items make it to your new home in one piece. In an age when most of us rely on expensive, but fragile, electronics for the vast majority of our entertainment, and even work needs (think that PS5 it took you a year to find or your high-tech, but delicate home office equipment) you’ll need a lot of bubble wrap for even a smaller move.

I like this bulk bubble wrap as it comes in lots of different sizes and is tough enough to help protect your stuff from moving damage while being affordable. Oh, and if you find yourself stressed out during the moving process, it pops really well too!

Room Labels

Labelling boxes with the rooms that they belong to is one of the basics of moving organization, but it’s a sometimes time-consuming thing that far too many people skip (and seriously regret doing so on the other end)

Making use of pre-created moving labels like these cuts down on the time and effort involved, and I find makes it far more likely that boxed do get their labels, as they are sitting right there as a reminder!

Tape Gun

Something else that can be a real pain when you are packing up to move is taping your boxes. The tape gets stuck to the wrong box, to your hands, to your dog or yo have to spend a frustrating few minutes trying to find the end (again). A tape gun like this one solves all of these problems, and more, and will also create a stronger seal, another big plus.

Jumbo Ziploc Bags

Large clear bags can be an excellent alternative to boxes for smaller non-breakable items. These are often things that you’ll need early on when you arrive at your new place, like basic bathroom supplies, and not having to dig through boxes to find them is great. However, these bags need to be strong and roomy, which these jumbo Ziploc bags certainly are.

Sturdy Tote Bags

Tote bags can also be a great way to organize the things that you will need first when you get to your new home, but for them to actually be useful, they need to be roomy and sturdy, and you’ll probably need several of them. These tote bags meet all of those requirements and they will be great for use as reusable shopping bags when you head to the grocery store to stock up the fridge and freezer at your new place.

Wardrobe Boxes

The idea of putting certain items from your closet into a box where they might remain scrunched up for days can be rather scary. Your best business suits, your big splurge designer party dress, your saved for posterity wedding dress, your pricey cosplay outfits and more all come to mind.

A wardrobe box can be the perfect solution here. Wardrobe boxes are great for keeping your best clothes on their hanger when moving or putting them in storage and these can be recycled once you are done with them, or, because they are so sturdy, passed on to a friend to help make their move more organized too!

Mattress Covers

A good mattress is not cheap, and yours is almost certainly essential for a good night’s sleep. But all kinds of things can damage it when you move – from an Exacto knife cutting the wrong tape to all kinds of dust and debris from the moving truck (and maybe even bugs) spoiling its silky smooth surface.

A mattress cover is an excellent, and easy way to prevent all of this, and if you like you can even leave them in place after you settle in to your new home, as a mattress cover is an excellent way to keep your mattress clean and comfortable on an ongoing basis.

Moving Shoulder Straps

This one is less about organization and more about saving time, and your back. Moving boxes and bulky items is an easy way to injure yourself and damage the stuff you are trying to move, and these clever shoulder straps help prevent that.

They also help you life heavier items than you might usually be able to safely and efficiently, which will be a big help if you have chosen to do a lot of the actual moving on your own.
